Flutter Entertainment appoints comms chief

Flutter Entertainment, the FTSE30 gambling business behind Paddy Power, Betfair, Sky Bet and Sporting Life, has hired Kate Delahunty as its group corporate comms director.

Kate Delahunty has more than 20 years of strategic comms experience in New York, London and the Middle East. She will be responsible for corporate, financial, digital and sustainability comms at Flutter, as the issue of gambling and its potentially negative effect on society comes into sharp focus.

Delahunty will be based in London and report to Jonathan Hill, chief financial officer at Flutter. Hill said he was “delighted” that she had joined the business as it “explores new markets and opportunities to entertain our customers in a safe, responsible and sustainable way”.

Delahunty joins Flutter from Lloyd’s Register, a leading professional services advisor to the global maritime industry. Prior to that she worked as a senior consultant to Vodafone and was senior vice-president corporate communications at global logistics business DP World. Before moving in-house, her agency roles included leading Capital MSL’s MENA operations and advising multi-sector clients at Citigate Dewe Rogerson.
