The Rise of Connected Leadership

Interesting article in this week’s Economist highlighting how the people function has rapidly grown in scale and influence and another clear sign that talent, culture and workforce risk now sit firmly at the centre of corporate strategy.

For corporate affairs leaders, this shift is especially relevant. It echoes the findings of our From Band Leader to Master Conductor report, which shows that high-performing organisations are those where corporate affairs and HR operate in true partnership. We’re also seeing a small but growing number of corporate affairs leaders now taking on wider leadership responsibilities including the people function.

It’s a powerful reminder that the skills at the heart of modern corporate affairs including narrative, trust, stakeholder management and culture-building are increasingly viewed as essential to shaping the employee experience and organisational performance.
