Corporate affairs: A bigger seat at the table, or a bigger challenge to deliver?
The latest Ipsos Reputation Council Report 2026, Life After Predictability, makes for fascinating reading. With 78% of corporate affairs leaders identifying misinformation as a material business risk and 76% now making meaningful use of AI, the profession is navigating a period of extraordinary change. The traditional boundaries of corporate communications are being redrawn, with growing expectations around strategic counsel, reputation management and commercial influence.
From a leadership and recruitment perspective, this raises an important question: Are today’s Corporate Affairs leaders equipped for tomorrow’s challenges, and are CEOs giving them the authority they need to succeed? The opportunity to elevate the profession has arguably never been greater, but neither have the expectations. Those who can combine strategic judgement, commercial understanding and technological fluency will increasingly stand apart.
