Meet the UK Government Minister Responsible for Pushing Through New ‘E’SG Regulation, in collaboration with Goldman Sachs
A law that will significantly impact your IR & corporate affairs programmes
Many investor relations and corporate affairs leaders are not yet aware that a significant bill which now regulates pension funds, and therefore affects how they invest in companies, has now been given royal assent. The UK is the first G7 country to legislate for net zero by 2050, with the bill putting climate change at the heart of pension savings. This bill will undoubtedly have a sizeable impact on IR programmes and investor reach for every single listed company.
In collaboration with Goldman Sachs, Broome Yasar has invited Guy Opperman MP, Minister for Pensions, to share the Government’s now legislated position on pension funds and their investments in UK plc.
It is going to be crucial for the IR and corporate affairs community to fully understand the new dynamics, which will ultimately affect how companies position themselves within the equity capital markets.
The Minister will give an overview of the Government’s new legislation and targets and will join a panel chaired by Broome Yasar’s Oskar Yasar, which will include Maria Elena Drew, Director of Research for Responsible Investing at T. Rowe Price and Claire Hedley, Executive Director, Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The event will be introduced by Evan Tylenda, Head of SUSTAIN Research, EMEA, Goldman Sachs.
